10 Rules for Being Your Own Boss

10 Rules for Being Your Own Boss by Bernadette Eata #TheWellnessUniverse #WUVIP #OwnBoss

We are a powerful group of people starting a revolution; many of us are learning about ways to take control of our lives.

Even better than that:

  • We are learning to manifest our powers because we know that we create our own destiny!
  • We are taking control of our bodies by eating healthier and using organic, plant-based products.
  • We are taking control of our minds by learning and implementing traditional techniques and alternative medicines to reduce stress and increase happiness.
  • We are even taking control of our finances, by creating businesses to share our gifts with the rest of world.
If you feel like you’re ready to create your destiny and start your own business, here are the 10 Rules to Being Your Own Boss:
  1. Know Your “Why.”

Your “Why” is your inspiration and motivation for your business. More importantly, it is the heart and the driving force of your business’ success. Everything you do in your business (from creating its name to the products/services you sell, to your brand and what you stand for) will center on your reasoning for why you started this business.

It should be significant and specific enough to make you want to get up in the morning and work towards that goal every day.

  1. Truly care about your clients/customers.

If you take the time to really get to know your customers’ needs, wants, and life challenges, you can better create your product or service to accomplish their goals and help them with their problems. The true success of your company and being a successful boss lies in how well you know and take care of your customers.

  1. Take care of yourself.

This can seriously be a hard one for some people. It is important in the journey of starting your business to take care of yourself, maybe even better than you did before. If you don’t take time out of every single day to eat right, sleep well, and relax or have fun, you can burn out.

Don’t demotivate yourself and set yourself up for failure. You need (and deserve) to be able to take a break, every day, even if they’re short ones. Take a morning nature walk, have a cup of tea, cook your favorite recipe, or simply meditate for a few minutes.

  1. Be brave and creative.

When I say this, I mean to follow your heart and trust your intuition. You should use who you are, your personality and your strengths in your business.  This will help your business thrive because it will reflect in your product, service, and website.

People will be able to connect with you and your business on a personal level, which will allow you to build a meaningful relationship with your customers.

  1. Be Disciplined.

Being your own boss means exactly that! You aren’t an employee anymore. You don’t have managers or supervisors hovering over you. So, guess what that means?

You have to make sure you have enough self-discipline to set aside specific hours for work time, commit to these times, stay organized, manage your time efficiently, and stay productive.

  1. Hard Work/Persistence.

Having your own company is nothing like working a 9-5 job. You aren’t paid by the number of hours you put in, especially in the beginning. You are going to be working a lot, putting in countless days and sometimes, even sleepless nights.

Be persistent and don’t give up! The harder you work, the better the outcome and don’t forget to trust in the process.

  1. Patience

Like I said above, the start of your business will be slow beyond explanation. Be patient enough to know that your hard work will definitely pay off in time.

Just because you don’t see results right away, doesn’t mean that it just isn’t working out. Continue to work and the Universe will reward you when you’re ready.

  1. Expect Failure.

This is the harsh reality of owning a business. You will make mistakes. You will mess up. There will be failures in your company. That’s just how businesses go, but it’s only a true failure if you stop working towards your goal altogether.

  1. Always learn.

As failures are a natural part of a business, it doesn’t necessarily mean that your business is completely doomed, trust me! You can take this failure and use it to your advantage. Look at it as a learning experience.

Take note in that you are now one step closer to finding what truly works for your company and its success.

  1. Believe in yourself.

As Gandhi said,

Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.

What you believe is what you will become. Think positively and you will attract positive events. Trust that you will be successful with your business because the Universe will always have your back!
