5 Morning Rituals for Less Stress

5 Morning Rituals for Less Stress by Kimberly Flatland #TheWellnessUniverse #WUVIP #LessStress

Creating a morning ritual is an easy and essential way to release your stress, expand your happiness and start your day.

Begin by waking each day and engaging in one or more of these acts for less stress:
  1. Alone time

Rather than rushing out of bed in a hurry to begin your day, remain in bed for some extended alone time. Use this time to sit in meditation, prayer, visualization or repeat words of affirmation. This time will not only allow you to connect with yourself, but also with the divine.

  1. Disconnect from social media

Through technology, we have the ability to connect with anyone at any time over social media, yet we oftentimes fail to connect with ourselves. If you find yourself rolling over in bed and reaching for your cell phone in the morning, change that. Let your first connections of the day be with yourself.

  1. Journal

Put your pen to paper and write it out. Journaling is an effective way to clear your mind while expressing your thoughts and emotions. There is no right or wrong way to journal, just let the words flow. You may want to reflect on how you want your day to feel, release anything that is causing you stress, or delight in the abundance of blessings in your life.

  1. Head Outdoors

A morning walk in the outdoors will allow you to connect with nature. Through this form of physical activity, you are able to gather your thoughts and see the beauty around you.

  1. Smile

Make a conscious choice to be happy.

Choose a ritual and start it today. Do it tomorrow, and again the next day. Keep incorporating it into your morning experience and soon you will recognize the peace, calm and splendor of happiness it brings to your life.
