In Part 2 of this 3-Part blog series by WU World Changer Joy Gabriella, she shares how angels can help you in your life and the different ways you can receive their messages. Late joining this series? Catch up on Part 1!
When I first heard an Angel’s voice, I was a very young child. So young, in fact, that in my earliest memories, I was already listening, and playing with them as well. The strongest first memory was incandescent.
I was sitting in my backyard, hiding from an argument my parents were having. The Angels spoke to me clearly, telling me that the disagreement was not my fault, I was not to blame, and that I was a very Good Girl. I say incandescent because I felt a light come straight through my little body. I started to cry, knowing that something very special had happened, was happening often when the Angels spoke, and it was the happiest thing in my life.
AND, no one believed me! My mother was a psychologist, and she told me I was day dreaming. She popped me into therapy at age 5, and the therapist kindly told me it was not unusual for children to “make things up to get attention,” and that I already had plenty of attention and love without needing to tell stories. She asked me why I was telling this story. I refused to speak to her about what to me were beyond very special experiences.
And so, it went, on through childhood. I learned not to talk about the Angels, and lived in a two-fold world, the one I could touch and the one that came to me as voices, and later, sometimes signs, visions, and dreams.
When I started Sunday School, I learned I was not going to be encouraged to talk about Angels there either, again it was thought I was seeking attention. But just a few years later, I was able to read well enough to begin what was to be a lifetime of reading and research. I wanted to know what was happening for myself.
The advice I received from my Angels was always sound, and I never thought for a minute I was making it up for myself. Instead, when I started to research, I learned that there were actually Angels in the Bible!
I now know that Angels have appeared throughout recorded history.
History of the Angels:
The word angel in English is a blend of Old English and Old French, both derive from the Late Latin angelus “messenger”, which in turn was borrowed from Late Greek. The word’s earliest form is Mycenaean. We find Angels in many religions, including Hindu, where they appear often, and without ‘wings.’ It is thought that in the Western tradition, the energy around perceived Angels was so strong, a white light was interpreted as wings, and although they don’t fly, they have been so represented ever since.
According to scholar Michael D. Coogan it is in the later books of the Hebrew Scriptures that the term “comes to mean the benevolent semi-divine beings familiar from later mythology and art. Daniel is the first biblical figure to refer to individual angels by name, mentioning Gabriel (God’s primary messenger) in Daniel 9:21 and Michael (the holy fighter) in Daniel 10:13.” Coogan explains the development of this concept of angels. The angel is something different from God himself, but is conceived as God’s instrument or messenger.”
Christians inherited Jewish understandings of Angels in the early years. Later came identification of individual Angelic messengers: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel, and still later the classification of the seven main Archangels.
The New Testament includes many interactions and conversations between angels and humans. Examples of Angelic interaction include the births of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. In Luke 1:11, an angel appears to Zechariah to inform him that he will have a child despite his old age, thus proclaiming the birth of John the Baptist. In Luke 1:26 the Archangel Gabriel visits the Virgin Mary in the Annunciation to foretell the birth of Jesus Christ. Angels then proclaim the birth of Jesus in the Adoration of the shepherds in Luke 2:10. According to Matthew 4:11, after Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, “…the devil left him and, behold, angels came and ministered to him.” In Luke 22:43 an angel comforts Jesus Christ during the Agony in the Garden. In Matthew 28:5 an angel speaks at the empty tomb, following the Resurrection of Jesus and the rolling back of the stone by angels.
The Present Day View of Angelologists:
Maimonides had a neo-Aristotelian view that was later duplicated in the rise of Angel work in the 1990’s. Maimonides believed that what we refer to as “Angels” are actually allusions to the various laws of nature; they are the principles by which the physical universe operates.
Science and Angel thought, merged as Angels, began to be seen as entities of Energy, carrying the Energy of the Divine to the human realm.
Attitudes now remain divided – Angels being considered by some to be physical beings, by others to be pure Spirit or Energy.
Could the Angels help your life?
We’ve seen how the Angels were involved in my early life, and then, eventually to the point where I shared the guidance of the voices with those in need. I now Practice a form of ‘Empathic Angel Reading,’ without Cards, where I take the questions from my clients into meditation, and receive (in most cases), direct answers.
It’s not so for everyone – hearing the voices is unusual. Having a loving, supportive relationship is not. Since early history, people have experienced intermediaries bringing help from a supreme entity, a Divinity, that is so immense they have trouble even grasping the concept, and Angels are the messengers that make Spirit easier to feel and understand.
There are many levels of help, in the signs Angels leave, when we have a firm conviction that is beyond the usual for our own level of belief, our Intuition is often seeded by the Angels – the answer is Yes, they can help if you so desire.
The final Blog in this Series, Part 3, discusses how to bring Angels into your life. It’s easier than you might think! Watch for Part 3 and discover for yourself that Spirit can be with you in an easier manner than you might ever have imagined.
