10 Helpful Tips for Your Holistic Self-Care Journey by Jivana Kennedy #TheWellnessUniverse #WUVIP #Holistic

With healthcare and insurance rates skyrocketing these days, many of the people I know are taking more and more personal responsibility for their health.

However, the information that is being offered out there can seem voluminous and overwhelming. This is by no means a comprehensive treatment of what to do and how to do it. I just would like to recommend some guidelines for your reflection, and I hope some of them will make your journey in the realm of holistic self-care just that much sweeter.

Here are 10 Helpful Tips for Your Holistic Self-Care Journey:

  1. No one Can Know Your Body, Heart and Mind Like You Do.

The more you fine-tune your own self-awareness, the easier it becomes to attract the ones who can help you amplify the positives and minimize the negatives.

  1. Learn How the Entire World has been Working with A Sick Model of ‘Healthcare’ for a Long Time.

With a prolonged focus on illness and disease, it can be very challenging to know what true wellness is and then a step further than what High-Level Wellness (HLW) is. HLW lives in the realm of our human potential, and no one knows as yet the true implications of that.

  1. Educate Yourself about the Vast World of Natural and Holistic Healing.

At first it can seem complicated and overwhelming, but, in my opinion, in general, holistic and alternative therapies carry less risk and are less invasive than those derived from the allopathic medical model.

  1. Know that All Practitioners of Health-Care and Healing are Not Created Equal.

Here again, the better you know yourself and trust your own inner guidance, the more likely it is that you will find the one who is right for you.

  1. Exercise.

Work harder to find an exercise that you actually would practice, than you do to achieve your unhealthy habits. In other words, if your self-image says you’re a yogini, but you really love and feel motivated at the gym, go to the gym. Self-disclosure: This really happened to me.

  1. Deeply Understand and Consider the Profound Implications Sexuality has on Your Body and Your Psyche.

Honor your most sensitive needs and desires relative to it. The truest, deepest, and most life-affirming experiences of intimacy happen by inspiration, not by obligation.

  1. Spend as Much Time as You Possibly Can in Nature.

Absorb the radiant warmth of the sun. Take off your shoes and let your feet feel the earth and the grass, and the sand between your toes, as often as possible.

  1. When it Comes to Food, Less is Better.

Feed your body food that is high in nutrition and as close to natural as possible, but which are also easy to digest. Again, knowing yourself here and your body’s specific needs are really key.

  1. Surround Yourself with People who Love You and Who Are Easy to Love.

The love we give and receive with one another is the most powerful healing force there is in all of existence.

  1. Learn to Put Life on Pause.

Allow the time and space to be meditative. Give yourself the precious time to stop and smell the roses.

Never before, in the history of our planet, have we been asked to witness so much of the grim reality and hardship that exists in the world.

The local and global news may impact us sensitive ones at our core, but it can help remind us to keep the perspective that the essential beauty and miracle of life is more powerful and much more real.
