As a business owner, the most important thing you can do is put yourself out there in as many ways as you can so people can find you, hear what you do, and then either take action for themselves or refer a friend to you.
If you have a service-based or creative business, then you’ll love the strategies I’m going to share with you today; they’ll help you get your business in front of your ideal clients and help you grow.
Here Are 5 Strategic Ways to Accelerate Your Business Growth:
Decide exactly who you want to help
There are millions of people in the world with the exact problem that your business solves, but if you’re website or description is too vague, they won’t know that you’re speaking directly to them.
What do I mean by this? If you have a health coaching business and you want to help women lose weight, have better eating habits, and create healthy movement habits, then you’ll want to separate out how you describe your services because it will feel vague otherwise.
For instance, you could have several different groups of coaching sessions and packages separated out into moms who want their body back, women in their 50’s, and ladies training for a marathon who have never done that before.
This process of deciding exactly who you want to help is called “niching down.” The more specific you can be the better, so your ideal clients feel like you’re talking directly to them.
Have more than one way to reach you
Social media is a big part of marketing yourself and your business so it cannot be ignored. People want to be able to find you, connect with you, and have conversations online that feel real and authentic.
However, while someone may find you through a social media platform you ultimately want them hanging out on your website so they can do one of several things like join your list, send you a message, purchase a product, or sign up for a service.
You want to have your brand in several different areas because people use social media platforms for different purposes, and some may have favorites.
For instance, I prefer Pinterest and Twitter over Instagram and LinkedIn, that’s just my personal preference for how I enjoy processing information, but I have an online business presence on all four of them with a specific focus on Pinterest to build out awareness, find clients, and make business friends.
Concentrate on one social media marketing strategy
As I just said, it’s important for people to have multiple ways to interact with you on various platforms, but I recommend you set aside time every week to focus on becoming excellent in one specific social media marketing strategy.
It doesn’t matter which one you choose to be your main focus as long as you commit to spending time creating consistent content and nurturing the relationship with that audience. I personally chose to step up my Pinterest game because it is a search engine platform, just like Google, and has millions of users actively looking for solutions to their problems.
All the way from “what should I cook tonight?” to “how do I start a blog?” and everything in between. It includes the bonus that its users are closer to or already in a “buy now” mode when they use it.
That’s why so many shops, artists, creatives, and Etsy entrepreneurs have such success in showcasing their products on Pinterest. It works really well for service-based businesses and is a great chance for you to show people your depth of knowledge when it comes to helping people get results. Build out your list
You’ve probably heard this before, but your business growth will be accelerated when you put focus on getting prospects to sign up for your list on your website. Your list is simply a collection of people that have raised their virtual hand and said, “Hey, you’re doing something cool and I’m interested in getting to know more about you.”
By signing up for your list, they’ve given you a virtual handshake and smile and invited you to continue the conversation you started with them on social media. It’s a risk-free way for them to get to know you and your opportunity to build a like, know, and trust factor.
The other reason why it’s so important to drive traffic to your website and have a list is that you own those areas. Social media is fantastic at marketing yourself and connecting with people, but it’s a tool that you don’t own. The real magic in digital marketing comes from getting people off social media and onto your website, so you can build a relationship with them.
Get testimonials and put them on your website
People feel more comfortable purchasing a product or investing in a service when they see that other people have done the same and are happy with the results. As you continue to help people with your business, you’ll begin to build a great list of testimonials that are an important part of effective marketing.
With every client you help, ask them for a one or two sentence testimonial about their experience with you and get their permission to put that information on your website. They’ll be happy to do it!
Those are the five most strategic ways you can accelerate your business growth.
I recommend you concentrate your efforts in these few areas so you can keep your marketing list streamlined. If you’d like help growing your business and having a steady stream of clients every month, I can help you with your marketing and website traffic.
