5 Ways to Make the Most of Each Day

5 Ways to Make the Most of Each Day by Kathy Boucher #TheWellnessUniverse #WUVIP #EachDay

Do you ever wonder what makes a person feel accomplished at the end of the day? Is it the number of hugs they’ve given to their kids, the number of times they’ve said I love you, the number of things that they’ve ticked off of their ‘to do list’, or the joy in knowing they have put their best foot forward and overcame obstacles on their ‘bucket list’? How do you get the most out of 24 hours?

The answer to this question is as individual and unique as each person who asks it.

Here are 5 tips to get most out of each day:

Decide now what matters most to you.
  • What is your top priority in life?
  • What are you unwilling to give up?
  • What do you need to make you feel that your life is complete?
  • Schedule time to be, do or have what you feel is a priority. When you look back on your life you don’t want to have any regrets.
What are you grateful for as soon as you wake up in the morning?
  • I read an article that says Bob Proctor starts his day by writing down ten things that he is grateful for. I adopted this habit. Try it and it and it will completely shift your perspective on how you start your day.
  • After this, he writes down the things he wants to accomplish for that day.
How can you pay it forward?
  • Keep track of your random acts of kindness throughout the day.
  • Jot them down in a ‘Kindness journal.’
  • Read your journal before going to bed.
  • This is a great way to build self-esteem and go to sleep feeling good about yourself.
Switch up your routine.
  • If you always go to work the same way, take a different route today.
  • If you always wear the same jewelry, switch it up and wear something you have not worn in ages.
  • Buy a different brand of cheese, a different style of sweater, or wear two different shades of socks! It will surprise your kids and make them laugh.
  • Find ways to breathe life into your daily routine. You will be amazed at how refreshed you will feel.
  • Two parents, working 9-5, live across the street from my sister. (We are both shift workers.) Their top priority is spending their free time with their kids.
  • The trade-off is that their house is messy and has that ‘lived-in look.’
  • Where do your priorities lie? Review the first tip.
  • What can you delegate and to whom to help you feel that you are accomplishing the things in your life that are mandatory, yet still having time left over to be and do what matters most to you? Delegate as much as you can.

Be proactive and don’t just read these words but ponder, meditate on and write down the answers to these questions. Happiness means different things to different people. If you can figure out what makes you happy and you are clear on all of the 5 tips to get most out of 24 hours, then this article has accomplished what it set out to do.

Make the most of each day and love your life.
