When you hear or see the word “healthier,” what kind of emotion does that trigger inside of you?

Like happiness, I believe that we are all trying to achieve a state of optimal health in all of its many facets, which include physical, mental, spiritual, financial, and emotional health.
Since being on an 18-year long journey to becoming more mindful of my own health every day and helping others achieve the same, I recognize that our health is the root of all of life’s experiences. If one area is suffering, it will likely spill over into another.

Dig deep. Write it down and put it before you every day. I suggest you read it first thing in the morning and before retiring at night. Many people know what they should do but they simply do not do it for one reason or another. Be one of the few who does it.

Share your plan and your goals with those you trust to be honest with you and with those who will keep you accountable while celebrating your success.
Start Moving Your Body Every Day.
This does not have to be vigorous but at a level, you could maintain day to day. I believe that our society underestimates our daily activity levels and energy expenditures, yet movement is one of the best forms of medicine for our mental and physical health. You might even discover that you have more energy than you thought as you become more consistent with daily activity. Remember the principle, “a body in motion, stays in motion.”

A simple “thank you” every morning and every night is a good place to start. By being grateful for the opportunity to better your health, you will initiate action. Why? Because you will realize you can take action today.
