Embracing the goddess that you are

Lioness with orange eyes

As a society, we are starting to recognize the value and the importance of investing in ourselves and working toward healing and growth. This is great news, as it can empower people to do something they have never done before, look inward, acknowledge the self in its entirety, and overcome suffering.

If you have not had the experience of reflecting on your journey, life, and self in a curious, non-judgmental, and loving way, it is time to shift your mindset and encompass new energy.

Being a goddess means embracing yourself exactly as you are.

~ Stacey Wharton

Embracing yourself exactly as you are may not be an easy thing to do. However, you will find that the practice of letting go of the things you think you should be or should be doing, is liberating.

Give yourself permission to be who you are, where you are, and how you are, regardless of the things outside influences have made you believe. It is the ultimate gift. Only then, will you be able to access the freest, truest, and best version of yourself.

So where do you start?

Take time to regularly check in with yourself. What do you notice? Are there thoughts or images coming in and out of your mind? Are you drifting through memories? Are you experiencing any pain, discomfort, or pleasure? Are you at ease?

There is no need to judge your experiences, thoughts, emotions, physiological responses, or reactions. All that matters is that you connect with yourself, observe, and sit with it. Resist the urge to run from the parts of you that are unacknowledged and wounded.

This practice is a starting point to unleashing the goddess within you and living your best life.

Taking yourself and your circumstances in, just as they are, will help you recognize areas that require awareness, intent, and transformation.

  • Identify the struggles in your life, the things you are you working toward, the things you are proud of as well as the way you think about, see, and treat yourself.
  • Remember that nourishing your mind, body, and soul entails more than the occasional bubble bath and glass of wine, although those can do us good in the short term. Incorporate healthy habits into your lifestyle. Ensure that you are doing things for yourself on a social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual level. Find what works for you!
  • Then, if you wish to do so, you can work with your thoughts. Observe the dialogue you have with yourself on a regular basis. Is it helpful or harmful? Do you notice any unhelpful patterns of thinking, such as harmful beliefs, jumping to conclusions, thinking something bad is going to happen, or ruminating over unpleasant things that have happened?
  • Learning to challenge and reframe your thoughts can be a transformational, life-changing tool. Essentially, it consists of taking thoughts and beliefs that are problematic for you and framing them in a way that serves you better.

Once you have invested in those areas, you will be free to explore the new possibilities of your life.

Are you ready?
