Essential Oils for Everyday Living: Finding Clarity Through Meditation
As the days get shorter and move into more extended periods of darkness, many of us reflect on the waning year. This is also a time of year when we start to meditate on the coming year and begin to jot down our intentions.
Finding clarity during these times of mediation can be difficult.
This when negative thoughts can creep in, blocks can grow more substantial, and self-doubt can consume us.
Essential oils can guide us through this maze of emotions and help us to create powerful intentions for the year to come. Shared below are a few essential oils that can clear up any confusion and provide the spark needed to manifest powerful intentions for the year to come.
When I begin to meditate, my preferred way to use essential oils is to diffuse them. When we diffuse essential oils, they flow into our olfactory system, tapping right into the emotional center of the brain.
Here are a few of my favorites for finding clarity:
- Cardamom Essential Oil
Also known as The Queen of Spice, evokes clarity, while clearing confusion.
- Rosemary Essential Oil
Stimulates the mind and opens our conscious mind.
- Peppermint Essential Oil
Stimulates the nervous system, helping us to expand our minds while combating negative thought.
- Frankincense Essential Oil
Because it contains sesquiterpenes, it helps to stimulate the limbic part of the brain which elevates the mind.
- Blue Tansy Essential Oil
When over-stimulation happens, and we need to calm our minds bring in blue tansy.
- Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
Supports balancing energies and restores our self-confidence and self-love
- Black Pepper Essential Oil
Helps us develop our intentions with clarity and honesty.
- Spruce Essential Oil
Allows us to tap into our spirit guides.
- Geranium Essential Oil
Is positive and uplifting, it stabilizes the mind and enhances our imagination.
- Cedarwood Essential Oil
Is for spiritual awakening and helps us push through blockages and ground us.
- Lavender Essential Oil
Can deepen our state of mediation while bringing balance to your higher and lower chakras.
- Palo Santo
Inspires creativity energizes and lifts the spirit; many people use Palo Santo for clearing negative energy before meditation.
Essential Oils are potent tools that can be used to rid ourselves of unwanted energies, to expand our conscious mind and bring about a spiritual awakening.
When creating this list of essential oils, I decided to recommend some lesser-known oils in hopes to encourage you to step out of your oil comfort zone and try something new.
