Inspired by 25 Tools for Transformation: Unapologetically Whole: Disability and the Journey to Self-Love

25 tools for transformation karin korb
Meet Karin Korb, founder of the Goddess Factor Collective. In our latest book, The Wellness Universe Guide to Complete Self-Care: 25 Tools for Transformation, Karin Korb shares how Radical Self-Presence became the tool that transformed her life, from internalizing the lie of “less than” to living unapologetically whole. She invites us into the sacred truth that self-love isn’t a destination, but a daily return to ourselves.

Karin KorbThe Wellness Universe (WU): Hello Karin Korb, please tell us about yourself and what inspired you to write your chapter in the book The Wellness Universe Guide to Complete Self-Care: 25 Tools For Transformation.

Karin Korb (KK): I broke my back in a gymnastics accident when I was sixteen, and for the past forty-plus years, I’ve been navigating life in a wheelchair. I’m a two-time Paralympian in the sport of wheelchair tennis, a certified sound practitioner, pranic healer, and certified life coach, but those are just the titles and investigating who we are without them is part of our infinite journey. At my core, I’m a truth-teller and space-holder. I support people in remembering their wholeness through a tool I call Radical Self-Presence. It is a practice born from my own journey of living in a Disabled body and refusing to abandon myself to make others comfortable.

My work, whether through journeys, energy clearing sessions, sound meditation, keynotes, or coaching, is about dismantling outdated ideas of what leadership, wellness, and prioritizing self-love represent. Healing isn’t about fixing, it’s about returning. Returning to your breath, your body, your truth.

I said yes to writing this chapter because I wanted to offer a truth I spent decades unlearning and remembering that we don’t need to be more healed, more perfect, or more palatable to begin living as whole. As a Disabled woman, I’ve been told in countless ways that I had to overcome my body and any obstacles to be worthy. But what I’ve come to know, through countless experiences, some experiences are filled with rage, some so funny I could barely breathe from the laughter, and some lessons and blessings that only the tears of grief could ever bring. Wholeness was never lost. It lives in our breath, our boundaries, and our radical willingness to be with ourselves, exactly as we are. Writing this chapter was a sacred act of reclamation, not just for me, but for anyone who has been told they are too much or not enough. Radical Self-Presence isn’t just a tool; it’s my offering, my vibe, my galactic dial, and my call to others to come home to themselves.

WU: What tool do you share in this book, and what can we expect to experience as a result of using this tool?

KK: The tool I share is called Radical Self-Presence. It’s the sacred practice of staying with yourself, fully and unapologetically, especially when the world tells you to shrink, to fix, or to hide. This isn’t about perfection or performance; it’s about presence. When you use this tool, you begin to dismantle the lie of “less than” and return to the truth that you are already whole. You can expect to feel more grounded in your body, clearer in your boundaries, and more connected to your own divine knowing.

WU: You call Radical Self-Presence a sacred refusal to abandon yourself. How does this practice intersect with your spiritual path, and how has it deepened your connection to your own divinity?

KK: For me, Radical Self-Presence is the spiritual path. It’s not separate from divinity; it’s how I vibe with it. Every time I choose to stay with myself instead of abandoning who I am for someone else’s comfort, I’m deepening that sacred relationship with the Divine inside me. This practice isn’t just about feeling better, it’s about coming home to my Soul, again and again, through breath, through boundaries (aka saying “NO” when your gut tells you, Listen!), through truth-telling. It’s how I remember that I was never broken, never behind, never too much. It’s how I witness the frequency of wholeness, not as a goal, but as my birthright. Radical Self-Presence is where my healing meets every part of my Divinity.

  1. What an inspiring and heartfelt interview! I love how Karin reminds us that Radical Self-Presence is not about becoming something more, but about returning to who we truly are—whole, worthy, and unapologetically ourselves.
