Stress and overwhelm are so prevalent today. It is in our everyday lives and the world at large, and it’s really taking its toll on far too many folks physically, mentally and emotionally. So what can you do about it? Do you realize that you have a choice about how much you want it in your life?
Pause for a moment and think about everything you have going on in your own personal life and how it makes you feel.
Perhaps you have too many commitments. Some of these commitments may be necessary and some may not be. Are you overextending yourself when it comes to volunteer work? Are your kids in every team and club making you feel like you are chasing your tale and not taking care of YOU?
What can you let go of starting today or this week to ease your stress and overwhelm? Please don’t think you are being unkind or selfish about what you choose to let go of. Stress and overwhelm are not your friends. Cut them lose as soon as possible.
Are you plugged into the news constantly? This “noise” can be very addictive and put you in a state of stress and overwhelm. This can lead to overeating, not sleeping, constant worrying, and feeling hopeless and unenthusiastic about your life.
There are some things we can take control of, and there are some things we cannot. I recommend focusing on what you can change. Unplugging from the constant fear based news is a good place to start. For many, this alone will make a huge positive difference to the way you feel.
