Here is her expanded thought …
Everywhere we look today, we are bombarded with marketing to convince us that we are lacking in some way, shape, or form. From the multi-billion dollar industry of making women feel less than in order to sell beauty products, to the new tactics of making us feel like we are just missing one little key to our greatest successes. This message of lack is not gender specific either, it also targets men by impressing upon them that they aren’t strong enough, attractive enough, or smart enough, and anything else that makes them feel inferior in some way.
The main message is always the same, “You are less than.”
For example, a friend of mine is strategically brilliant and a mastermind, however because she is attractive, she was programmed from the very beginning of her life that her looks are what mattered, not her mind. Today, she’s a strong lady, and she knows she is so much more than her physical body. Another good friend of mine is an excellent writer and a true idea creator, as well as hilarious and extremely creative. However, she was made to feel that her opinions and thoughts never mattered. She is now rising from those ashes and becoming quite a force to contend with.
How did they get past the “less than” and into the “I AM”?
They chose to reject the idea of being less than anyone or anything and then turned their inner light on full blast for the world to see. Beacons of real inner beauty, strength and courage, and they are paving the way for others to see their own light within as well. They changed their “I AM” statement to one that fits who they really are and have not looked back since.
I personally say it’s time to end this “Less Than” game. We need more messages of “You are amazing just how you are.” Each one of us brings something unique and truly our own to the table. Can you imagine what the world would be like today if we were all encouraged to be bold, brilliant and astounding in our own way? No judgements, no holding back, no competition – only the cheering on of being YOU, and knowing that you mattered.
When you can recognize your own worthiness, you will truly see remarkable changes from within, and in everything that surrounds you. It all starts with changing your “I AM”, and you ARE amazing.
