Trailblazing Wellness with Elizabeth Kipp

Welcome to Trailblazing Wellness with Elizabeth Kipp, Stress Management & Historical Trauma Specialist and member of The Wellness Universe.

The Wellness Universe is a resource and community of amazing humans we call WU World-Changers! Our members are vetted teachers, therapists, transformational leaders, coaches, and guides who support well-being and help us further our vision of achieving global peace by way of happy, healthy, healed human beings through the work they do.

Today we want to introduce you to Elizabeth Kipp

The Wellness Universe (WU): What is your mission?

Elizabeth Kipp (EK): My mission is to guide people in unleashing the power of their own healing and offering tools to free them from suffering so they can live a thriving life. My mission is based on my vision of a world:

  • that encourages commitment, integrity, self-love, and service to others;
  • where together we support each other’s growth;
  • that fosters peace and ease by encouraging ways to adapt to life’s changes and accepting that we cannot change, thereby creating health and wellness for all.

This mission is not only my own but also in complete alignment with the mission of The Wellness Universe, which believes that “happy, healthy humans lead to peace globally.” This alignment reinforces the strength and validity of our shared mission.

WU: Please tell us about yourself and what inspires you?

EK: I am the founder of Elizabeth Kipp Stress Management, LLC. I have been a longtime seeker of truths with a foot both in the spiritual and scientific worlds. I bridge the gap between these two worlds, taking a three-pronged approach to the Stress Management and Historical Trauma Specialist role. I have authored a number of peer-reviewed research papers in my areas of expertise, am the international best-selling author of “The Way Through Chronic Pain: Tools to Reclaim Your Healing Power,” and have coauthored 13 best-selling books in the health and wellness space.

I healed from over 40 years of chronic pain, including anxiety, panic attacks, and addiction. I met thousands of other chronic pain sufferers over the years, all seeking relief from the grip of suffering. Now, in long-term recovery, I guide others to unleash their healing power, find freedom from suffering, and live a thriving life.

WU: Now that we know a bit about you, explain what it is that you do and how it helps people to be happy, healthy, and healed.

EK: I am a Stress Management and Historical Trauma Specialist, Trauma-Trained and Yoga-Informed Addiction Recovery Coach, and Ancestral Clearing Practitioner.

I help people suffering from any chronic pain—physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual—achieve healing and thrive in life beyond suffering. Chronic pain changes the brain, so I offer modalities that heal those changes and help people release the grip of chronic pain through Ancestral Clearing, Historical Trauma Healing, Compassionate Inquiry, Addiction Recovery Coaching, and Yoga and Meditation. I am also a Certified PBT Coach for Dr. Debi Silber and The PBT Institute. I work as a Betrayal Coach and Ancestral Clearing Practitioner, and I offer Somatic Practices and Trauma-Informed Yoga to the members of this platform, all of whom are seeking to heal from a betrayal experience.

In the complex tapestry of our lives, the threads of ancestral history and personal trauma often intertwine, creating patterns that can shape our present and future. As a Stress Management and Historical Trauma Specialist, I have dedicated my life to unraveling these intricate patterns. With a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern therapeutic techniques, I help individuals transcend their pain, fostering profound healing and personal transformation.

I work in person, over the phone, or online worldwide. I have been a guest on over 150 podcasts, health and wellness panels, and summits. I am available for podcasts, panel discussions, summits, and workshops in my areas of expertise.

I can help you unleash your inherent power to heal using a grounding in science, a foundation in the spiritual world, and a lifetime of experience.

I have tested the modalities I use to help people find a happy, healthy, healed life and found them to be powerfully effective at helping people find balance and regulation out of dysregulation, confidence out of self-doubt, and grounding and purpose in an ever-changing world.

WU: How long have you been doing this work?

EK: I have a lifetime of experience with trauma and chronic pain. I have been in business since 2014.

WU: Why are you so passionate about being a Stress Management and Historical Trauma Specialist?

EK: My passion became helping those suffering from chronic pain and teaching them how to manage stress. I went into the area of historical trauma because I realized it was at the root of many peoples’ challenges with managing their stress. It’s a significant piece of what we are carrying because we have the imprints of unresolved trauma from our ancestors.

I teach the tools to heal from chronic pain and live a magnificent life without pharmaceuticals. I encourage commitment, integrity, and self-love and promote peace and ease by offering effective ways to adapt easily to life’s changes, creating health, wellness, and joy. I help people find the light when they are lost in the darkness of their pain, no matter its origin.

The path to healing from trauma and the pain that follows from it is known. And there are reliable and effective tools to help effect that healing. This knowledge and having teachers to help me apply it properly were beyond uplifting for me. By traveling this path myself, I learned how to use these tools skillfully. It is a distinct honor to be in a position where I can now offer such tools to others in their own search to find their way out of the darkness.

WU: Was there a specific life experience that caused you to follow this path?

EK: I found my purpose in life through my experience with chronic pain.

I overcame and healed from 59 years of chronic pain and 32 years of addiction to prescribed pain and anti-anxiety medication.

I remember a time when I was so stressed out with chronic pain. I felt like I was trapped and lost in a dark closet. I couldn’t find the doorknob. Heck, I couldn’t even find the door. Dark shrouded the entire space like an all-enveloping cloak. I couldn’t find even the tiniest hint of light—anywhere. Yet, a part of me knew that I had to keep searching for the light and for a way out. A part of me knew there was an exit. I searched and I searched. The tension had wrapped itself up in me like one of those toy tops I used to play with as a child.

I finally found the key to unlocking the door to the prison I found myself in—I no longer looked away from all that was inside of me that I had tried to ignore, deny, repress, distract myself from, or numb out. From that day on, I have been on a long journey inward. This is my final frontier, the great undiscovered country of Elizabeth. I had to learn to surrender to all that was living inside of me.

Captivity is a mentality. It was a thing I carried with me. It’s hard to understand how confusing freedom is when you have been a prisoner for so long. It’s hard to understand how hard it is to grasp that you even have the choice to act. It’s hard to understand how unimaginable the sun is if you’ve been living underground for years.

Look at the courage and the extraordinary force it takes to break out of the inertia of being such a prisoner for so long and the action that one must take to change the momentum, the course of one’s trajectory, from the unimaginable to the exquisite knowing of real freedom.

I visited doctor after doctor with the same results: “Here’s a prescription for Meprobamate and Percocet; it should help.”
It didn’t. The pain got worse.

I became hyper-vigilant, suffered from hyperalgesia (an increased sensitivity to feeling pain and an extreme response to pain), and had frequent debilitating panic attacks.

I was dying, inch by inch, cell by cell. There were days when I sat writhing in pain and thought, I just want to die.

The traditional medical approach led to the following:

  • My pain was getting worse to the point that I was taking very high doses of opioids and benzodiazepines on a daily basis.
  • I had a compromised ability to breathe and digest food, so I was not able to take in nourishment.
  • I suffered from depression and hopelessness.
  • I lost friends and family who didn’t understand what I was going through.
  • I wasn’t able to keep a job for long.
  • I wasn’t able to walk across the room.
  • My memory was unreliable.
  • I had frequent yet unpredictable panic attacks.

On September 15, 2015, I met Dr. Peter Przekop. “Your pain medications may be causing your pain, and I can help you reset your stress response,” he said. I looked up with raised eyebrows and started to cry. At the time, I didn’t understand how he knew so much about what I was going through, but I felt authentically seen and heard for the first time by a doctor. I felt such relief. My sense of hopelessness lifted, and in its place, I felt that I might be able to finally get off the medications and end my suffering.

I healed with the help of that doctor. I now live a thriving life and so can others. I have dedicated my remaining life to helping others find freedom from the grip of chronic pain so they can live a thriving life, too.

WU: Please share a story of how you have made a difference in someone’s life.

EK: Living in chronic pain can feel like you have grabbed a tiger by the tail and cannot remember how to let it go. I know. I am familiar with how this feels since I lived with chronic pain. Chronic pain is the nightmare roller coaster ride of our lives.

You may feel that you have been doomed to live a life ruled—indeed dominated—by suffering chronic pain. I am here to tell you that your situation does not have to be hopeless. The body wants to heal. You don’t have to suffer.

Consider this example of my client Claire’s lived experience:

Claire: “I’ve looked everywhere. I’ve seen scores of doctors. I’ve taken the medicines. I’ve done what I was told. The medicine isn’t working. I am still in pain, and it’s getting worse. I’m losing hope. I feel like I am standing on the edge of a ledge and will fall at any moment. Surely, there is another way to live, one without this constant suffering from chronic pain. Tell me what to do. I’ll do it. Just help me, please. You have gone through chronic pain and come out the other side. Can you help me?”

Me: “Yes. I am not a doctor or a therapist. However, I have gone through decades of chronic pain and found help to heal my condition and a way to live a life without suffering. I am happy to teach you the tools that worked for me.”

I sat calmly with this chronic pain sufferer. First, I asked Claire just to breathe and drop any struggle with the pain. We talked briefly, and I listened to Claire’s story. She had never been able to tell her story to anyone who truly seemed to hear her. The relief in Claire’s voice from finally being heard was palpable. Next, I did an Ancestral Clearing with her.

Claire felt a pronounced shift and release in her pain. “Wow!” she said. “I feel calm and at ease in my body. I wasn’t sure that this would ever be possible for me again in my life. For the first time in eleven years, I have hope.”

Claire’s experience is an example of what is possible with chronic pain. The brain is changed by chronic pain. We need to bring modalities that help heal those changes.

WU: What would you say is your crowning achievement thus far?

EK: My crowning achievement beyond the miracle of my own healing is the honor of being able to guide others on their way out of suffering and into a thriving life.

WU: What’s next on the horizon for you?

EK: I will continue to spread the word that healing is possible and guide people to discover the healing power within them.

WU: Thank you so much for sharing today! Do you have any final thoughts?

EK: The greatest healer in your life lives within you. Doctors can set a bone and stitch up a wound, but they cannot tell the body how to heal—only the body knows how to do that.

WU: Do you have a testimonial that you can share with us?

EK: “Thank you so much!!  I really appreciate all your care, knowledge, seasoned skill, and creativity. Each session with you has been wonderful, effective, and exactly what I needed. Thank you for being available to work with me! You are a blessing in my life and one of the best practitioners out of the many I have worked with.”

Gratitude and love,
