Your Wellbeing Matters: The Key Ingredient to Becoming the Person you Wish you Were

What if I told you that you are already the person you wish you were? If you were standing in front of me, you may be looking at me as if I had three heads. Hang in there with me for a bit, I promise this will all make sense.

Let me walk you through a visualization.

What came up for you during that visualization? Before you continue reading this article, take a pause and jot down everything that came up even if it doesn’t make sense. This pause is a small investment of your time and has the potential to change the course of your life.

Have you figured out what the key ingredient is? You know, the one required for you to be the person you envisioned a moment ago? Yes, that ingredient.

The reveal! It’s making the decision. Not only is that a key ingredient, but it’s also a gift.

For those of you who like checklists, here are three steps you can take right now to become the person you wish you were (but already are):

1. Decide you are that person already. Be that person right now. I get it, you may not yet have the income or some of the things, but you can certainly have that mindset right now. You can choose what you will and won’t allow in your life.

2. Keep yourself surrounded by people who’ve already decided to be the person they wished they were. Learn from what they are doing well and not so well. If you don’t have such people, reach out to me, I can recommend my mentors to you (in the form of books I’ve read).

3. Trust that whatever it takes to become that version of you is absolutely possible. You don’t have to have a clear picture in mind, all it takes is moving in the right direction, assess, keep going.

If you’re feeling defeated, congratulations, you’re leveling up. What are you going to choose to do about it? The tough thing about leveling up is that it requires you to take full responsibility for your life (emotions, responses, career, etc.). YIKES! Yet the beautiful thing about leveling up is the sense of inner freedom that is unmatched. That inner peace frees up your mind for the more important things in life (as defined by you).

I hope that you experience inner freedom! Decide who you want to be, then take the steps needed to bring that person to the forefront today. Ready? You got this!
