Herbal Teas and Supplements to Support Your Body’s Detoxification Process

The body naturally has systems for detoxifying and clearing metabolic waste. The organs that do this are the liver, the kidneys, lymphatic system, skin and lungs and the colon.

When there is inflammation in the body, supporting the “detoxification” process will help improve immune function, digestion, energy, sleep, skin, metabolism, muscle tone, emotional and mental wellness.

More and more research is pointing to chronic inflammation being the underlying cause of many illnesses and diseases that affect metabolic and hormone function in the body. Stress plays a major role in chronic inflammation and autoimmune conditions.

With the uptick in people developing autoimmune conditions such as allergies, thyroid, diabetes, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), celiacs, RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis), and psoriasis a supportive detox approach for addressing inflammation will improve symptoms.

Studies show that processed foods are associated with increased low-grade inflammation and chronic diseases.

Environmental factors play a role such as pesticides and microplastics in addition to our consumption of processed foods.

What we consume is not limited to food or drink, but also medications, pollutants, and our environment. Environment includes where we live, the products we put on our body, our sleep habits, work, exercise, relationships, and the social media we expose ourselves to.

Eating more plant based and organic as well as avoiding foods that cause inflammation such as processed foods, artificial sweeteners, sugar, dairy and caffeine.

The number one thing we can do for our body is to drink water. Our body is made up of 60-65% water that circulates and is filtered; when we drink water we are able to help the body dilute metabolic waste and the excrete it through sweat, urine, the lungs, and feces. Vegetables and fruits are naturally nutrient dense and also carry water to better encourage detoxification.
