Is it possible to be happy in the middle of a pandemic? With so many suffering from financial loss, ill health, divorce, abuse, hate, homelessness, where can happiness be found? Can we find well-being and joy in today’s world amidst the chaos? Well, we may not be able to find it, but we can create happiness and joy for ourselves.
Happiness is something you decide on. The plus side is that if we create happiness for ourselves, our happy energy can spill out into the world around us. We seldom think that our internal world has any effect on the outside world, but it does. Our thoughts and feelings are so very important in creating our life and our world.
On average, we humans have about 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day. Of those 80,000 thoughts about 80% are negative. For most people only about 1,000 of them are new, original thoughts. What does this data tell us? Most of us are thinking and feeling the same way everyday hoping our lives will change.
If you want things in your life to change, you need to change things in your life.

So, the questions become: What are you willing to do to raise your happiness level? What are you willing to change? Will you give an hour a day to make a change? Thirty minutes? Ten minutes? What is your happiness worth to you?
Speaking from experience, I can attest to how much happiness has enhanced my life. Creating the time for daily meditation, exercise and eating healthily has made a huge impact on my life and how I feel. And believe me, my life was a total living hell when I made the commitment to be happy.
Today, the ability to be happy no matter what is happening is my best success in life, and I have had many accomplishments.
Emotions and DNA
When we are in a state of happiness or positivity even our immune system gets stronger! Now, who could not use an immune boost in these trying times of COVID-19?
According to Greg Braden, New York Times Best-Selling author, Scientist and Spiritualist states in his Master Class “Technology, Consciousness and Evolution,” that our emotions change our DNA and our DNA changes matter, so therefore our emotions change matter! Science has now proven how our feelings and emotions change our external world.
Isn’t it worth taking charge of how you feel? Feeling and being happy will net you the best outcome. Invest in yourself! Create happiness.
In his book, High Performance Habits, author Brendon Buchard speaks about how we can generate emotions at will and he challenges us to check in with ourselves before we do anything. Before you enter a meeting, ask yourself what the intention of this meeting is. Before you walk in your home at night, stop for ten seconds and ask yourself, who do I want to be for my family or spouse.
Change Your Vibration
In my chapter in the Wellness Universe’s Book, Complete Self-Care 25 Tools for Happiness, I share my tool to simply sit quietly and fill yourself with gratitude, love, appreciation and any other feeling that feels good to you. In just ten minutes in the morning, you can change your vibration enough to make a difference over time. This difference can totally change the outcome of your life.
You can take charge of your own happiness. You can create your life the way you choose but you need to become aware of what you are thinking and let go of any attachment to a particular outcome. Let life flow to you and if you just live your life in a happy, grateful place, life will flow to you in surprisingly, happy ways.
The Power of Happiness
The power of happiness is unknown to most people today. The power that comes from being totally aware of who you really are. You are not your body or your mind. You are a powerful being connected to the energy of the universe! Imagine that, unlimited power, unlimited possibilities.
So, to answer the question that was posed at the beginning of this post, “Is it possible to be happy in the middle of a pandemic?” The answer is, “Yes!” when you take charge of your own happiness. Plug into the power within and make the decision to be happy.

We are all responsible for the energy we bring to life. Every thought is energy, so I tell you, think responsibly!
