Accessing Intuition
The amount of information bombarding our senses can feel overwhelming when making decisions. We try to sort the data, discern the options, and decide the best choice. Accessing your intuition can be a powerful tool for personal growth and decision-making. Learn to cut through the outer noise of life challenges to make clear decisions with confidence.
Intuition is our innate ability to tap into our authentic selves and inner knowing. We refer to a gut feeling that points us in the right direction. Intuition comes from the higher, wiser part of ourselves that sees the big picture and knows our highest good. Learning to access our intuition builds self-confidence, self-trust, and inner resilience.
A Reality-Bending Experience
Have you ever had a reality-bending experience by accessing your intuition?
My experience in Miché Meizner’s A Magical Journey workshop ended up bending my reality. The topic was spoon-bending. I started out with five spoons and the intention to make them bend. One flimsy spoon bent easily in my hand with little pressure, but the other spoons were more durable. I might have been able to bend them through force, but that wasn’t the point. Miché told us to become one with the spoon. We were encouraged to align our energy with the intention of bending the spoon.
I thought, What the heck does that mean? When I finally released my resistance and got out of my head and into the flow, the spoon bent effortlessly in my hands. Then I did it again.
Key takeaway: Get in the flow!
The next day, I learned from another reality-bending experience. I was trying to upload videos onto three social media platforms. Operational word: TRY! My phone kept spinning on each platform.
I paused and sat in my grounding spot in the house and let my energy settle. I got out of my head and into the flow. When I shifted my INNER VIBRATION, the outer vibration shifted easily. Then, I got the intuitive hit that the videos would now upload—and they uploaded easily and gracefully.
Key Takeaway: Get grounded and stop spinning in my head.
How to Develop Intuition
How do we develop our intuition? Here are four keys:
Body awareness
Intuition speaks through the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. The more we are aware of body sensations, the more we can recognize intuitive hits.
- Get grounded and present in your body. Breathe deeply and notice your breath expanding your rib cage. Feel your feet on the ground. Imagine tree roots anchoring through your feet into the earth. Find the energy flowing along your spine through your central nervous system.
- Feel into a “no” and a full-body “yes.” Take a minute right now and try this. Imagine something you do not like or do not want to do. Where do you feel that energy in your body? For myself, I notice constriction in my throat, my breath, and my abdominal muscles. What is a NO! feeling for you?Now feel into something you love—a place you want to go, an experience you want to have, or a joyful relationship. How does that feel in your body? This is a Yes! For me, I personally feel expansive. I can breathe easily, and my energy feels open. That’s my Yes!.What do you notice as your full-body YES!?
Check Your Mental – Emotional State
Your mental and emotional state affects your intuitive ability. When I’m feeling stressed and doubting myself, I know I’m not connected to my intuition. When I’m feeling open and optimistic, I know I’m plugged in and connected to my authentic self.
Try affirmative statements of intention to recalibrate your mental – emotional state.
- I am a cooperative component in my own well-being.
- I am integrating the skills I need to succeed at my next level.
- I choose to refine my alignment with my authentic self.
- I choose intuitive knowing.
Create Space for Inner Reflection
Intuition needs a quiet space to be heard and experienced. Sometimes, just a couple of minutes of grace can make a huge difference in accessing your inner calm and intuitive knowing.
- Find a quiet moment of calm within. Breathe and listen.
- Turn off outer noise if possible.
- Walk in nature or sit in silence.

Let Go!
We all have access to intuition as a natural part of being human. But sometimes we get caught in overthinking and cannot hear our intuitive knowing.
- Let go of the need to control the outcome.
- ALLOW the greater good to surface.
- Set your intention to align with your inner wisdom and surrender ego control to the Highest Good.
Trusting Your Inner Guidance
The more we listen to our intuitive inner wisdom, the stronger it becomes. When you want to build physical body muscle, you lift weights repeatedly. When we want to develop our intuition, we need to practice accessing and listening to its guidance.
By integrating intuition into decision-making, we can make well-rounded decisions aligned with our authentic selves.
What I’ve learned at a deeper level is that when I’m feeling doubt, I’m not plugged into my authentic self and source of intuition. It’s time to take an intuitive guidance break to access intuitive knowing and my authentic self.
When I take time to pause, get grounded, and trust my inner guidance, I make better decisions. I trust myself and my choices. My intuition is always available to guide me—I just need to make time and space to listen.
In a world overflowing with external noise and distraction, your intuition offers you a steadfast guide to your authentic self.

Thanks, Leah. This was such a fascinating read! I love the reminder that intuition is always available to us—we just need to slow down and listen. The spoon-bending story was such a great example of how getting out of our heads and into the flow can create seemingly impossible results. I also really resonated with the idea that our mental and emotional state affects our intuitive ability—when I’m feeling grounded and open, everything flows so much more easily. Thanks for these great insights and practical tips!
