Welcome to Jim Phillips’ Wednesday Wisdom for October 10th! Each Wednesday, WU World Changer Jim Phillips will share some mid-week wisdom for you to ponder and embrace!
“Life is what we make of it and what it makes of us.”
Life is the singular and cumulative events and experiences of humanity.
Life is each moment, the experience of each moment as it flows through us. How we experience each moment depends on the perspective of life we choose to embrace. We are always at this choice point…a choice in how we will perceive and subsequently experience life.
“The way we view life, our perspective, determines how we respond to life. How we respond to life determines how we experience life. Our experience of life is a reflection of who we believe our Self to be.”
There are two primary perspectives from which we can choose to view and subsequently experience life, “clearsightedness” and “fearsightedness.”
Living from the perspective of clearsightedness, one is open and receptive to the goodness and grandeur of life.
They are consciously aware of who they are and what they are capable of creating and experiencing. They are more trusting and respectful of their Self and others, and trust that life wants them to live a life of joy, peace, love, and happiness.
They embrace life and always look for the gift inherent in every situation. They know that regardless of what life presents it is always for their benefit, even in those most challenging situations. With clearsightedness, life is seen through eyes of possibility and potential, not fear or limitation.
The second perspective is “fearsightedness.”
Fearsightedness is a condition of the mind that causes one to view life as always challenging, fearful and obstacle-ridden. No matter where one suffering from fearsightedness might look it is colored by the fear of what they believe will happen, usually as a worst-case scenario.
Those who live through this perspective constantly look over their shoulder to see what or who might be gaining on them. They perceive life as being against them, always trying to hold them back or knock them down. Life is perceived as a never-ending struggle. Fearsightedness robs them of their personal power by taking them out of the present moment, the only moment in which anything can be created
The truth is life is difficult regardless of the perspective you hold. It is intended to be challenging so we have the opportunities to move beyond the experience and expression of our Self in that moment to a grander experience and expression of our Self.
There can be no growth or expansion if we are not pushed to the limits of our believed and accepted power to the truth of our limitless power.
“We have been told that we are not given anything that we cannot handle. The truth is there is nothing we cannot handle.”
Life is what we make of it by how we respond to what it presents. Life makes of us who we are and are in the process of becoming as we move through the progressive realization of the truth of who we are.
