Welcome to Jim Phillips’ Wednesday Wisdom for March 6th! Each Wednesday, WU World Changer Jim Phillips will share some mid-week wisdom for you to ponder and embrace!
“There is within each moment the potential, the opportunity, and the responsibility to change the world for the better.”
Everything that has ever been, began as a thought.
With a thought comes the potential for the primary object of that thought to come into form. However, it is only when we believe that the primary object of a thought is possible that we can bring it into form, and therefore, our lived experience.
What is the potential for the world to be changed for the better? What thoughts do you have? What opportunities exist within each moment for this to be? And quite frankly, why or how is it your responsibility?
I believe the potential for a better world lies in the thoughts we have about what we believe is possible for creating that world. Perhaps peace is at the top of your list, ending world hunger, or even just honoring and respecting one another for who each is and what they believe.
We have thoughts about how the world can be changed for the better and what needs to be done to make it happen, but stop short of making it happen. We fail to take responsibility for creating the desired change in our personal world, and therefore, don’t take responsibility for how we make a difference in the world at large.
Each moment presents an opportunity to make a difference individually, regardless of what others think or do.
A smile or kind words to a stranger could be enough to prevent them from taking their own life, resulting in their living and finding a cure for cancer. How you serve as a positive role model to your own children or to the friends of your children can change the course of their lives and therefore make a difference in the world.
How you take responsibility by managing your own thoughts, beliefs, choices, and actions makes a difference in this world.
What you don’t choose is the consequence of each choice and subsequent action. Doesn’t it stand to reason that if you hold thoughts and beliefs consistent with the changes you desire to see, and you make choices and take actions consistent with those changes, there is a greater likelihood you will see and experience those changes?
Truth be told, who you are and what you do might not be played out on the world’s big stage, however, who you are and what you do impacts the world at large, nonetheless.
Be present to your thoughts in each moment.
Realize the power and potential inherent in each thought. Believe that what you desire to create and experience is possible, and it shall be. The power in each moment lies in our ability to choose. Choose wisely.
Here’s to the greater world that is not only possible, but it is also inevitable, if we choose for it to be.
See you back here this time next week for my Wednesday Wisdom for March 13th!
