Welcome to Jim Phillips’ Wednesday Wisdom for August 29th! Each Wednesday, WU World Changer Jim Phillips will share some mid-week wisdom for you to ponder and embrace!
“Life is an equal opportunity experience, it withholds nothing from anyone.”
In a recent L.I.F.E. strategy session, a client was detailing the many challenges she has faced during her life.
She wasn’t complaining, just recounting what she has gone through and how she changed as a result. Being around her and seeing how she always laughs and smiles, I would never have thought she has had to endure such challenging times.
As the conversation continued, we began discussing how there is no way we can know what a person has experienced or is experiencing any more than they can know what we have been through or are currently going through. Nor can we know what another Soul has intended for this specific “souljourn.”
There is the perception that all is well while just beneath the smiling façade there is hurt, fear, shame, pain or sadness lurking. The opposite can be true as well. While a person might have a sad countenance or be quiet and unemotional, they might be experiencing great joy and happiness within.
Some might question how life can be an equal opportunity experience when we consider some of the conditions under which many people live around the world?
Why are some born into what might be considered sub-standard conditions and others are given what appears to be a much higher standard of life? This all depends on what you believe to be the purpose of life.
If you believe the purpose of life is to achieve as much as you can and accumulate a certain amount of wealth, then some countries and people do appear to have the advantage over others. However, at what cost to the individual?
How is it that the small Kingdom of Bhutan, considered the happiest place on Earth, measures prosperity by gauging its citizens\’ happiness levels, not the GDP? (gross domestic product). Does this mean the citizens of Bhutan have less opportunity to fulfill life’s purpose than others?
What if the Truth is that we are born into the circumstances that best fit the requirements of our Soul, regardless of outward appearance? From this perspective, every Soul is offered exactly what it requires for the fulfillment of its Soul purpose.
Life can now be seen as an equal opportunity experience, no one has any more or any less than is required.
I can assure you that we all go through experiences, from painful to joyful, that allow for the greatest opportunities to reveal to our Self the truth of who we are, regardless of perceived circumstances. No one is given any more or any less when it comes to what is required to gain this greater understanding, experience, and truth of who we are.
“Life is an equal opportunity experience.”
And even though we are at times given what appears to be anything other than what we might desire, cherish what is given. It is always what is most needed at the time it is most beneficial. It is through each of our life experiences that our awareness of the truth of who we are is expanded.
“We live in an illusion of who we believe our Self to be while simultaneously living in the illusion of who or what we believe we are not.”
Life will always provide what is required to shatter this illusion so that the truth of who you are is what is fully experienced and expressed.
See you back here next week for my Wednesday Wisdom for September 5th!
