Welcome to Jim Phillips’ Wednesday Wisdom for February 13th! Each Wednesday, WU World Changer Jim Phillips will share some mid-week wisdom for you to ponder and embrace!
“Enriching the life of another enriches our own.”
To make fuller, more meaningful, rewarding or fulfilling, to add greater value or significance, is to enrich.
In other words, it is the expansion and enhancement of what already is. In terms of living in full expression, it is the expansion and enhancement of our concept of Self, who we know our Self to be, and then living from that knowing.
Consider what it would be like to live an enriched life. How might your life be changed? How might you think, feel or act toward your Self and others? How might you experience the events of your life differently from your experience of them now? How would it feel to live life with more meaning, joy, and fulfillment? What would it mean to trust your Self completely under all situations and circumstances?
An enriched life is a life of purpose, passion, joy, and happiness.
It is accepting responsibility for one’s life and making choices in alignment with what one desires to experience and express. We trust in our Self and life to present exactly what we need to live in full expression. We accept challenges as opportunities for the grandest expansion, expression, and experience of Self. This simple change in how we perceive life’s events brings peace and calm that support us through all of life’s experiences
This was brought home for me one day as I was waiting to get my hair cut. A middle-aged mother was getting her hair styled while her severely physically challenged son sat beside her in his wheelchair. He was restrained to prevent his slumping over and could only grunt and make guttural noises. From time to time, the mom would reach out, touch her son in a playful way and make a comment I was unable to hear. Each time she did so he responded with a smile and a noise only the mom understood. She continued playing with him, making him laugh and move around wildly in his wheelchair, which caused her to laugh. As I watched the two of them, I remember thinking that this was one of the most amazing and beautiful displays of love I had ever witnessed.
My experience of this event caused me to express gratitude for the many blessings I have been given. It also caused me to express gratitude for the experience of seeing such love expressed. I don’t know why this young man chose to enter this world in that body, but I do know my life was enriched because he did.
Living an enriched life brings greater awareness, appreciation, acceptance, joy, and feeling to life.
There is a greater sense of connectedness with all things, a greater understanding of the balance, harmony, and perfection of all things. An enriched life is bolder, more expressive, and more alive. We courageously share, express, and experience our authentic Self. We allow the authentic me to emerge and freely experience the fullness of every moment.
Life is enriched through our expanding awareness and experience of who we are and desire to be.
It is through the window of awareness that we see the limitless potential of life. An enriched life is the most rewarding life possible for it fulfills the promise of the grandest expression and experience of Self.
“The more we enrich our own lives,
the more we enrich the lives of others.
The more we enrich the lives of others,
the more we enrich our own.”
See you back here this time next week for my Wednesday Wisdom for February 20th!
