Spring Clean Your Worry Clutter

Energy and Empaths

Worry creates an enormous amount of negative energy clutter. I am a physical empath. Negative thoughts, worry energy, or any energy for that matter, has always had a deep impact on me. This sensitivity has stimulated a long journey of learning and figuring out how to manage its impact on me.

Let me describe one of my experiences with worry energy to allow you to glimpse it through my perceptions.

In 2006. I was working on producing and recording one of my CDs, “Transmutation.” I was also thrilled to be collaborating with a good friend of mine on another CD project, creating the soundtrack for her meditations. On top of this, I also had a full teaching schedule and other volunteer commitments. My days were pretty full.

One of the very special people in my life has always been my mother-in-law, Peggy. I adored her. We had so much fun doing many things together. We enjoyed getting our hair done and treating ourselves to lunch. She helped plan the flower gardens around our house. She was a master gardener, and I was her grateful apprentice. The craft projects and scrapbooking we worked on together filled our homes with joyful creations.

I always treasured my time with her.

Peggy, though, was a champion worrier. She had a brilliant mind. But when she was focused on the negative stuff, she could create a very powerful field, especially when she was focused on one person in particular.

Thoughts have powerful energy. They are very real in a physical sense. Powerfully focused thoughts can create fields, like clouds. Positive thoughts create positive, or welcome, fields. And negative thoughts create negative, or unwelcome, fields.

Positive vs negative thought fields

Positive thought fields make you feel wonderful, vibrant, or blissful, like being in your favorite place in nature. Negative thought fields can feel buzzy, heavy, or thick, like when the hairs on the back of your neck rise when something doesn’t feel right.

I hadn’t realized the strength of Peggy’s “worry” fields until one morning, while I was driving to a recording session with my friend. I received a blast of energy that almost drove me off the road. I physically hit the steering wheel.

I don’t get this kind of blast very often and I immediately asked for its source. Peggy came to my mind and I knew that she had been focusing her worry energy on me. It took me twenty to thirty minutes of vocal toning to get that energy out of my being. And to return to feeling like myself again.

Worry creates a powerful negative thought field. This thought field has a physical reality. When you are worrying about someone in particular, they receive this energy.  You may not realize it, but you too receive the full blast of your own worry energy.

What is worry?

Here’s a definition from Google:

“Worry: To give way to anxiety or unease; allow one\’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.”

Check out the list of synonyms in the next part of the definition!

Synonyms: fret, be concerned, be anxious, agonize, overthink, brood, panic, lose sleep, get worked up, get stressed, get in a state, stew torment oneself “she worries about his health”

Worry is nothing but FEAR!! It is every possible negative situation your mind can come up with!! And what does that do? It creates a powerful field filled with fear all around you and inside of you! If you are focusing those thoughts of fear on someone else, they too receive this field filled with fear.

There’s another part of this that is also damaging your own health. Have you ever heard or said, “I was worried to death about you!”

Every time you have a fearful thought, you are flooding your body with the stress hormones, adrenalin and cortisol. The U.S. Center for Disease Control has stated that more than half of all deaths of those under sixty-five are because of stress.

Back to my story. What did I do?

  1. The first thing I did was to clear myself.

As I mentioned earlier in my story, I used vocal toning to do this. Because I was still driving, I could use my voice and continue to pay attention to the road. There are many ways you can clear yourself, but that is for another article.

2. I made the decision to take responsibility for my own worry thoughts.

Later that day, I gathered my two sons around the kitchen table and made a solemn promise that I would never worry about them again. These two teenagers may have thought I was a little weird, but to me, verbalizing this promise to them strengthened my commitment. Whenever they are in a situation where they could be in danger, like driving on icy roads, I consciously surround them with a bubble of golden light.

3. I had a heart-to-heart conversation with Peggy about worry energy.

She knew of my sensitivities and was quite shocked when I told her that I had felt the effect of her worrying about me. She told me that she had been worrying about me that day.

After I shared what it felt like, I had a special request for her. I asked her that if she noticed her mind moving into habitual worry thoughts about me, that she create the intention to notice them and imagine me in a golden bubble of light instead.

I know she did her best. But eighty some odd years of habitual negative thought patterns isn’t really changed in a day.

With all the chaos in our world right now, worry is rampant! As you now know, worry thoughts have serious consequences, especially to your own wellbeing.

My hope and prayer are that with a little more awareness and responsibility for our own thoughts, we can actually save some lives.

And find the PEACE that always feeds us.
