10 Tips for Enjoying More Time

Do you feel like you are running behind your life as you move through your day? Do you feel that you have a never-ending list of things to do and finish each day wishing an extra hour would appear from somewhere?

Most of us feel this way at some point or another and find that we are constantly searching for a better way to create more time.

What is the answer?

Finding balance within ourselves while maximizing the time we do have! When we cultivate ways to personally save time, abundance is found including peace and calm.

As you cultivate and foster intentional balance the outcome is less stress, greater focus, and being present in what is happening right now versus feeling as if you are running alongside your life. Enjoyment and personal satisfaction are yours. We were made to desire life balance and flow as a means of thriving in all areas of our lives.

Here Are 10 Tips for Enjoying More Time:

  1. Place Your Needs at the Top Instead of the Bottom

Society sends a mixed message to “get it all done” and keep doing more while inviting us to take time for ourselves. This is confusing and creates inner chaos. The answer is to take care of yourself and your needs so you have more wellbeing and energy for everything else! Take time each day tending to your lovely self so you can be your best for others.

  1. Get Up Earlier

If you feel your workday mornings are crazy and rushed, give yourself more time to get ready and find your rhythm by getting up earlier. When you spend quiet time before your day starts by tending to yourself, you have balance and better focus with less chaos. This simple act of getting up earlier sets the tone for the rest of your day so it can flow with greater ease and balance.

  1. Create A Daily List

When you take time to craft a list at the beginning or at the end of the day for what is to come, you have a plan that places your time and energy in motion.

  1. Practice Sleep Hygiene

Good sleep habits aka sleep hygiene can improve the quality of your sleep and give you more energy to get things done with ease. Is there something you can improve with your sleep habits? Try this tip. Be consistent in going to bed and waking at the same time each day, at least during your school or work week. Intentionally power-off electronics one hour prior to bedtime. These hygiene habits help foster better sleep quality which provides more energy for you to enjoy your life in full.

  1. Manage Your Health and Wellness

Denying or ignoring potential health issues may seem like you have more time to spend attending to work, home, and other things. When health issues make their way into your busy life you may lose lots of time going to the doctor, taking time off due to sickness, be unable to get things done because you have little to no energy and just do not feel well. Pay it forward and care for yourself. The basics: healthy food, sleep, movement, and managing stress.

  1. Batch Like-Minded Errands and Projects

When possible combine errands if they are in the same vicinity, this can be on weekends or if you have time on a work lunch break to get in a quick errand or two. Batch meal planning, shopping, and food prep on a designated day of the week. Batch like-minded chores such as doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.

  1. Have A Place for Things and Put Them Back When Done

Nothing sucks time from our day like looking for misplaced keys, smartphones, electronics, a needed document, wallet, or purse. Have a designated place in your home for these items so when you need them you can easily find them. Time is in on your side!

  1. Stick to A Schedule When Possible

Create a personal and doable schedule for household and work routines and deadlines. A schedule helps you take charge of managing the time spent on projects while helping you stay focused. A win-win for your time and the quality of work.

  1. Read Using Audiobooks

If you like to learn and relax with a good book but are in your car more than at home. Listen to books, podcasts, and webinars as a means to time batch with learning and relaxation.

  1. Delegate at Work and Home

Enlist help from co-workers for minor work projects you feel comfortable delegating to give you time for bigger projects. Request help with household chores that someone else can do with ease. Consider hiring a service provider for things such as housekeeping, lawn care, and grocery shopping.
