Find Your Respite Within

We’ve all had one of those days, hopefully not too often, where everyone and everything makes you nuts. These people are crazy. This situation is impossible. Get me out of here!

On one of those days, what did you do to get back to center? To find your grounding? To reconnect to your natural state of inner well-being?

Did you stop to breathe, walk outside, or paint a painting? Take a moment to reflect right now. What is your go-to, self-nourishing technique that helps you remember who you are?

Here’s one technique for you to try.

Go to your happy place!

Pause for a moment and think of a time when you were in total well-being. Maybe you were at the beach. Maybe you were dancing or playing tennis. Maybe you were playing with little children.

One of my happy places is hanging in my hammock, watching the bees and butterflies pollinate flowers. Warm breeze. Iced tea. Wind chimes. Ahhhh. Going there now in my mind slows my breathing and my heart rhythm.

When life is full, can you take a five-minute break to breathe and nourish yourself from within?

Vividly imagining your happy place will give you a short respite and help you cope with whatever else is going on in your life.

Your natural state of inner well-being

Journey to another fabulous respite by connecting to your natural state of inner well-being. Use your imagination again. Focus your attention from head to heart. Imagine you can breathe through your heart as if you have a nose in the center of your chest. Breathe five long, slow, deep breaths through your heart.

Think of something you appreciate. Your pet. A loved one. Your flower garden. Your happy place.

Imagine that behind your heart in front of your spine, there is a doorway that opens inward to your soul, and through your soul to God the infinite. The Infinite always knows love, peace, joy, freedom, harmony, prosperity. This place of infinite well-being is always available to you. Divine love energy is like the air you breathe.

Bask in the glow of your inner well-being

Now imagine that you are breathing Divine Love energy through from the center of your being, through your soul, through your ego-personality, through your physical body, surrounding you like a bubble of well-being. Breathe Divine Love infused oxygen into your lungs, your blood, your heart muscle. Allow Divine Love to circulate through your body. Bask in the glow of your body being infused with your inner well-being.
